MERLOT - Developing and Delivering Online Courses Portal

Welcome to MERLOT’s Portal on Developing and Delivering Online and Hybrid Courses. This service of MERLOT is designed to help you easily discover online resources to help:

Campuses develop strategies and plans for designing and delivering online and hybrid courses
Faculty and staff choose “best practices,” tools, and processes for course design and delivery
Faculty and staff find existing online or hybrid courses that can be reused and/or adapted.

The portal also provides an organized collection of links to other helpful resources and a showcase of exemplary courses that use MERLOT and other high-quality content.

In this effort, MERLOT was joined by McGraw-Hill Learning Solutions to help develop ways for publishers and MERLOT to blend their resources and give faculty the best choices for high quality and easily customized content at more affordable prices. We are grateful to McGraw-Hill Learning Solutions for their involvement and support in establishing the portal, and for their collaboration in discovering ways for “Putting Educational Innovations into Practice”.

Through Institutional Strategies , MERLOT partners and others have identified examples and case studies of campus and system efforts in online course development, along with suggestions and recommendations for others.

Faculty Development offers connections to resources, topics, and people working to help faculty members in design, development, and implementation of online and/or hybrid courses.

The Online Courses section provides descriptive information and links to online and hybrid courses that may be adapted and used by others. The courses are arranged by subject area.

In Beyond MERLOT you can find links to helpful resources, other organizations, and additional sources related to online teaching and learning.

MERLOT resources include open courses from a number of organizations. The showcase features courses from the Washington State Colleges Open Course Library.
